Karina Lucas – The Armed Man at Ripon Cathedral

Karina Lucas – The Armed Man at Ripon Cathedral

There is a wonderful opportunity to hear Mezzo Soprano Karina Lucas when she sings in Ripon Cathedral on 18 November at 7:30 pm.

Lucas says:

I am delighted to be returning to Ripon Cathedral to sing The Armed Man with Ripon Choral Society and John Dunford.  On this occasion I am fortunate to be singing all solo lines in one of Karl Jenkins favourite works describing war and peace.  There are so many moving and thought provoking moments in this work but my favourite part to sing is ‘Now the guns have stopped’ describing the guilt felt by some surviving soldiers of World War 1.

The full programme for the evening, as part of Ripon Choral Society’s special series of concerts to commemorate World War One, will be:

John Rutter: Requiem
Karl Jenkins: The Armed Man

John Dunford – conductor
Orchestra D’Amici

Tickets for Ripon Choral Society at  Ripon Cathedral on 18th November at 7.30pm
