Montenegrin Guitar Duo at Olympus Hall, Seoul

The Montenegrin Guitar Duo is frequently invited to eminent international venues around the world and they are delighted to be performing in the Olympus Hall in the heart of Seoul this July.

Their programme on the 16th July features Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto Madrigal arranged for two Guitars, Piazzolla’s Tango Suite and music by Bach. This prestigious venue will join Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Festival Internacional de Musica y Danza de Granada, Kotor Art Festival, Koblenz Guitar Festival, A Tempo Music Festival, Shenyang International Guitar Festival and Daejeon International Guitar Festival as examples of their prior engagements.

The duo’s performances are always enthusiastically received, both by their audiences and the press. Their historically informed performances of their own arrangements for two guitars of J. S. Bach’s English Suites have received particular praise from the critics and their programme in Seoul includes Suite no.6 in D minor.

Naxos released the first of two volumes of Bach’s English Suites, transcribed by the duo for two guitars, in 2015; this unique project – to transcribe and record the complete set – has received excellent reviews. English Suites Vol. 2 was recorded in October 2016 and will be released by Naxos later in 2017. Excerpts from the first volume can be heard here.
