“Arrangements of Five has to do with the many ‘true’ but different perspectives people have on single events. The music ranges from being funky and jazz-like to total stillness, and throughout the work the five players are grouped together into different trios that interact with and effect one another as the music carries on. The whole work was created with Tim’s incredible virtuosity in mind, and so the Clarinet is featured in most of these trios, and has to do everything from ripping up and down its entire register, to nearly a minute-and-a-half of circular breathing in one particular section. I’m hugely excited to hear him play it with the fantastic members of the Gildas String Quartet!”
