Rachel Roberts at Holstebro International Music Festival

Rachel Roberts will spend the first week of October in residence at Klassike Dage, Holstebro International Music Festival, in Denmark. She will perform in five chamber music concerts over five days, including one concert which will be recorded for later broadcast on Danish National Radio. During the festival, Rachel will appear alongside many other world-class players, including Hugo Ticciati, Janne Thomsen, Julian Arp, Christoffer Sundqvist and Alasdair Beatson.

The concert which will be broadcast is entitled ‘Om åkander, månseskin, vemod og romantic’ (‘To waterlilies, moonlight, melancholy and romanticism’), and will take place on Saturday 5 October at Knudsen’s Hall, Holstebro. Rachel will feature in Joseph Holbrooke’s Nocturne, op. 57, no. 1, “Fairyland” for flute, viola and piano, alongside Janne Thomsen and Alasdair Beatson, before being joined by Christoffer Sundqvist for Schumann’s Märchenerzählungen, op. 132 (Fairytales).

Other highlights for Rachel will include Ernest Bloch’s Meditation for viola and piano with Alasdair Beatson on Thursday 3 Oct, Beethoven’s Duet mit zwei obligaten Augengläsern with Julian Arp on Friday 4 Oct, and Henri Vieuxtemps’s Capriccio Hommage à Paganini for viola solo on Sunday 6 Oct. She will also be performing throughout the week as part of larger chamber groups, with music by Mozart, Roussel, Golijov and more.
