Rowland-Mesirca Duo visits the Isle of Man

Daniel Rowland and Alberto Mesirca will travel to the Isle of Man to give a concert for the Ramsey Music Society on the 19th March.  They will perform a varied and exciting programme of music from all over Europe, ranging from Paganini to Bartók, and ending up in Argentina for Astor Piazzolla’s vibrant ‘Histoire du Tango’.

The Ramsey Music Society has been flourishing since September 1974, when it was founded as the Ramsey Grammar School Music Club by Mr Jack Pick, Head of Music at the Ramsey Grammar School. Mr Pick’s intention was to fill a gap in the cultural life of Ramsey and to make professional standard classical music available to the School’s students. Today, the society continues to welcome world-class performers and provides free student tickets for all their concerts.

Rowland and Mesirca met at the Kuhmo Festival in Finland some years ago, and have been performing frequently as a duo ever since.  Their debut CD, ‘Favorites’ was released in 2015 to great critical acclaim, and their concert in Ramsey will feature several popular items from the disc.
