For his “Up Close” recital on 10th February, Royal Northern Sinfonia clarinettist Timothy Orpen has picked a selection of chamber music featuring the clarinet, including works by Finzi, Widmann, Brahms, Giampieri and Mozart’s playful Kegelstatt Trio (apparently written whilst also playing a game of skittles).
Timothy is joined by violist Fiona Winning (a member of the Edinburgh Quartet) and pianist John Reid. The concert is part of the RNS’s Musical Journey ‘Reclaiming Mozart’.
