Clarice Assad (voice and piano) and the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet
Samples (video or audio, as preferred) of this fabulous new programme are available to concert promoters on request.
The Aquarelle Guitar Quartet and Clarice Assad have known each other for many years, having discovered a striking musical affinity early on in their friendship. In 2009 the quartet commissioned Clarice to write a piece for their debut recording with Chandos Records entitled ‘Spirit of Brazil’. The resultant piece – ‘Danças Nativas’ – earned her a Latin Grammy nomination. Building on this success, they have now realised their long-held ambition to collaborate as performers and have developed an eclectic programme of genre-defying music full of rhythm, energy, humour and emotion.
“Clarice Assad is quite simply a phenomenon who has streaked across the world’s musical landscape like one of those comets that appears just once in a lifetime” — Latin Jazz Network
